The Mendo Coast Photography Club meets on the first Monday of each month (shifted for holidays) at the Mendocino Coast Photography Gallery in Fort Bragg, CA. Club members range from beginners to professionals, but we all share a passion for photography.

Lisa Walker

Avid birder and photographer of all things Nature, but especially birds. I first got into photography as a student in high school with film and learning how to use a dark room. Those days are long gone!

As a digital photographer, I started in 1998 with a 1.3 megapixel FujiFilm camera. Those days are gone, too! I currently use a Canon R5 and an 800mm lens. Some of my photos are done with an iPhone, but the majority are done with the Canon. I’ve used Canon EOS 5 DS R with a Tamron 150-600mm lens as well as the 800mm EF and a FujiFilm FinePix with a zoom capability of up to 1600mm, though most of those photos were rather grainy. I am looking forward to the day I can afford the 800mm lens for the R5.

I’ve done some portrait and wedding photography, but much prefer nature photography.

I typically shoot in AUTO, simply because it’s easier and faster, especially with fast-moving birds.
