The Mendo Coast Photography Club meets on the first Monday of each month (shifted for holidays) at the Mendocino Coast Photography Gallery in Fort Bragg, CA. Club members range from beginners to professionals, but we all share a passion for photography.

Being a long-term novice in the digital world I love taking pictures

People caught in the moment

A bird perched on a fence

That special scene painted with a golden hue or pastel draped ocean bluff

Keeping my eye’s opened and camera ready I enjoy taking pictures

I come from a long line of art collectors and have been exposed to spectacular art from all around the world. While I am still exploring exactly what form of art my creative talents will produce, I have enjoyed photography since middle school. I am not trained, but I have an eye for framing, texture, shape, shadows and angles.

Linda Jo Stern

I moved to Fort Bragg with my husband in June 2016.  Previously we lived in Boston, Mozambique, and Oklahoma City.  (more…)

Jim Garretson

I discovered photography in high school and continued my studies of Art and Photography in college after military service.

I worked as a commercial photographer in Los Angeles and San Francisco most of my career using large format cameras. Moved to Mendocino about twelve years ago and I’m now my own client, shooting subject matter that I enjoy.

I’m still learning to adapt my film knowledge to the digital reality of today and enjoy sharing knowledge with other photographers.
